1522716 Preventing deposition of solids from liquids in heat exchanger SAINT-GOBAIN TECHNIQUES NOUVELLES 21 July 1976 [21 July 1975] 30363/76 Heading C7E [Also in Division F4] The deposition of solids from a liquid contained in a vessel such as a heat exchanger, is prevented by connecting two conductive parts of the vessel which are insulated from each other to the opposite poles of a D.C. source and reversing the polarity at intervals. The ratio between the maximum and minimum distances separating the parts is #3, the current density # 0À5 A/dmSP2/SP, voltage 3V, and the intervals between polarity reversal # 10 minutes. The vessel may be a heat exchanger with parallel plates, two pipes one within the other and insulated from each other or at least two mutually insulated coils mounted about the same longitudinal axis.
