Appts. acts as a seal between two steam feed tubes which rotate relative to each other, such as in the steam inlet to a paper or pulp drying machine. The seal comprises 2 sealing rings where their contact surfaces with each other also act as sliding surfaces. The use of two sealing rings which slide against each other, while providing the sealing action, gives less wear on the seal than conventional movement of seal against metal, which increases the seal life.
