The procedure is for the manufacture of powder coatings, with a fine structure, which is pre-determined by the degree of formation of border layers between particles and/or particle agglomerates. A base is dusted with a powderized coating material, the particles of which are physically or chemically connected to adsorbents, and the powder layer is fused on, or burnt in. A physical treatment of the coating material, which influences only the physically connected adsorption, alters the adsorption layer on the particles until a certain condition is reached. This condition is maintained, until the particles are deposited on the base. To obtain bonding, border layers between particles and/or particle agglomerates, the coating material is subjected to a drying process.
