The apparatus heats the body by infra-red rays and if necessary also using a treatment medium, and comprises a table to support the person's body, above which is a horizontal plate carrying the infra-red emitters. A curtain suspended from the periphery of this plate encloses with it and the table a chamber, out of which the user's head protrudes. There can be a recess in the plate at one end, so that the curtain curves inwards to leave the head free, a fan being provided opposite the head support. Table and plate can be supported by a rectangular frame consisting of detachable components, and the table can support a vibratory mattress.
