The polyalkoxylation prods. are R- C2H4O)x-(C3H6O)y-(C2H4O)z-H a where R is a (substd.) radical of valency a of an 8-24C organic cpd. with at least one mobile H atom, x is 5-11, y is 5-18 and z is 5-20, a is 1-4. They are prepd. by reacting one mole of R (H)a with x moles of ethylene oxide, y moles propylene oxide then z moles ethylene oxide. The products are used as softeners and detergents for textiles and additives in dyeing and printing processes. They combine excellent detergent powder with minimum foaming.
