Automatic coffee machine level indicator - has cooled thermal probe to control level of expressed coffee poured into empty cup

The automatic liquid level indicator is for use with expresso coffee machines, and controls the quantity of coffee which is distributed to each cup. The level indicator includes a thermo-electric probe (10) which reacts when contacted by the hot coffee to close a valve on the coffee delivery pipe (A). The probe is automatically cooled between successive cup filling operations. It is mounted on a mobile arm (19) which settles on the rim of a cup which is about to be filled. The probe (10) then delineates a coffee level somewhat below the cup rim and is activated by the free coffee surface.
