Mixing of liqs., esp. for kinetic reactions - for chemical or physical analysis by the 'interrupted flow' technique

In the appts., in which the liqs. are injected into an observation chamber via a mixing chamber, a ring shaped passage is provided which is connected to feed passages diametrically opposite points for the liqs. to be mixed and which is connected to two radial passages offset w.r.t. the feed passages. The radial passages lead to the base of a central chamber co-axial with the ring-shaped passage which extends upwards and is connected to an observation chamber by asymmetrically arranged passages. The base of the central chamber is in the form of an impingement surface near the outlet ends of the radial passages. Analytical accuracy is increased by redn. of "dead-time" in the mixer. The appts. is simple in design and construction and easy to use and maintain. Reproducible results can be obtd.
