In the first network, one input pulse train is gated with an auxiliary higher frequency signal, and the output used to increment a counter, the contents of which are then periodically proportional to both input frequencies. The contents of this counter are transferred via a storage register to another reverse counter in a programmed manner and the final counter counted down to zero by the second input signal. The various registers are cleared at the appropriate times and a pulse is output when the final register reaches zero. The output frequency is proportional to the product of the two input frequencies.
