Each hoist has a cable drum whose rotational axis lies parallel to the direction of carriage travel. The hoisting gear comprises two planetary transmissions whose sun wheels (9) are coupled to the drive motors (7), planetary wheels (10), which engage with the succeeding transmission gearing (10, 29, 30, 31) and finally ring gears (15) which mesh with bevel gears (17). A bevel gear drive (19, 20) is coupled to the drive shaft for each sun wheel (9). The shafts receiving the bevel gears (17) have a second bevel gear drive (25, 26). Two drive shafts provide the coupling between the first and the second bevel gear drives. The gear ratio between motor (7) and cable drum (5) is the same both via the sun wheel (9) and also via the external ring gear (15).
