A c code recognition circuit is used in conjunction with latching relays operating on an'm out of n' code to ensure that false states are eliminated during a change in input. For operation on a '2 out of 5' code, a recognition circuit is constructed from the contacts of five latching relays. Only when a correct combination is present is the gating relay open to allow the relay states to be reset over a contact. If a given combination of switches is set to 1 and there is a new combination due to various inputs occurs, then a definite change sequence occurs.
