The mechanism, which is enclosed in a roughly cylindrical chassis member (1), is attached by a screw fitting to the acoustic or optical or electrical alarm system with which is in associated. It is also attached via a clip (14) to a spring arrangement of two or more trip wires, at the junction point of these wires. Inside the device, a cylindrical rod (2) is held in the alert mode in a position by ball bearings in a slot guide against the force provided by a compression spring (5). When a disturbance occurs, this is released and switch contacts (8) associated with the rod (2) are opened. A securing rod (12) is used in the setting up procedure of the devices, and weather shielding (10, 11) is also provided.
