Cassette locking device for tape recorder - has slide carrying magnetic head into playing position and locking holder

A simple device for the fitting and removal of cassettes in a tape recorder has a cassette holder pivoting between a neutral and playing position. A slide carries the magnetic head into playing position and locks the cassette holder. When the holder (3) is open a pivoted lever (19) grips a spring release element (21) and a projection (25) enters an aperture (26) in the head support plate (13). On closing the holder (3) a spring (24) is extended so that, at the end of the closing movement, the locking element (28) is removed from the path of the head carrier (13) which then locks the cassette holder (3). A second spring (29) returns the plate (13) to the original position when the holder is opened.
