The epicyclic gear train has one of its output members mechanically coupled to the output shaft and the other hydraulically coupled to it. The hydraulic drive comprises a hydrodynamic pump (F) and a hydrostatic motor (G), connected in series in a closed circuit (18, 19). The pump is driven by the second output member (10) of the gear train, and the rotors (17a, 17b) of the motor are coupled to a shaft (C) forming part of the mechanical drive. The planet carrier (11) of the gear train (E) can form the driving member of the latter, while the annulus (13) and the sun wheel (10) respectively drive the output shaft and the pump.
