The seal is intended for connecting components which are arranged between spaces contg. different pressures. The support ring is concentrically arranged relative to one wall section. When the pressure differential, and thus the deflection, is greatest, the diaphragm is supported by the support ring. The seal may include two diaphragms, each fixed to a wall section and to a connector ring, the support ring being arranged between the diaphragms and fixed to the connector ring. The diaphragm may be formed in-situ, after welding flat rings to the wall section, by rolling or pressing.
