Dried and heated fillers are charged, with over 6 wt.% liquefied binder, into a twin-shaft mixer and intensively mixed at a circumferential speed of the blades of 2-3 m/sec. until converted from solid to liq. state, during which conversion the mixing speed is reduced by up to 50%. The filler is rapidly coated with binder, and incorp. of air into the compsn. during mixing is avoided, so that a final dwell period for de-aeration is unnecessary. Advantages of batch mixing, e.g. for frequent charges in compsn., are retained.
