The flame-proof rotating motor has its slip-ring casing outside the motor's main housing and capable of moving axially w.r.t. it. - The slip-ring casing (6) has two roller bearings with axially movable internal (10, 10A) and external races (11, 11A). The casing is linked to the housing by a support consisting of connecting struts (19, 20). - The struts are slightly flexible and lie radially between the housing and the casing (6). The struts are spaced around the motor's axis and inclined to that axis. The slip-ring casing is mounted on the stub end of the motor shaft. The two roller bearings are located close together inside the opening in the casing.
