A spinning ring oiling system in which magnetic valves, opened for predetermined time periods by a central control, admit oil through throttles from a low pressure supply. The pressure pref. is 0.01-0.2 atmos. over atmospheric and is produced and adjusted by an adjustably elevated oil container, with a level control. The level, for compound or cylindrical winding, is desirably at or somewhat higher than the middle of the ring-lift. For conical winding, the oil container may be raised and lowered with the rail. The throttles are tubular, stopped down with wire inserts. - One magnet valve can control one or a number of rings.
