The air cooling system for rack mounted electronic circuit card cabinets uses water cooled heat exchanger modules to provide a uniform effect. The system performance is independent of the spacing of the circuit cards. A double cabinet (1) has turn racks each holding a number of circuit cards (3, 4). - Located between each rack module is a water cooled heat exchanger with a pipe loop connecting to in and outflow pipe s at either side of the cabinet. Top and bottom plates have a series of small holes for the air flow. Air is ducted up through one cabinet from blowers (6) and down through the other to a discharge manifold (12).
