The deep drawing press for large components exerts pressure from above by multiple actuation. The tools are changed rapidly without the use of separate and transporting lifting devices and no additional storage is needed for filling rings. The press has an inside ram (2) with external projections (10). An outside ram (5) has internal pockets (12) on its inside face so that the projections (10) of the inside ram (2) fit into the pockets (12) in the outside ram. The side faces of the projections (10) and the side faces of the pockets are parallel and a uniform small gap is formed between the two components. The press tool built up from these components does not use filling rings and pressing forces are applied uniformly by the tool components.
