In a heavy slurry for the sink-float processing of minerals, consisting of water contg. a suspended finely powdered alloy with smooth and rounded particles, the improvement comprises the use of an alloy of 60-70 pref 64-66 wt. % Ni, 25-35, pref. 29-30% Cu, 3-8 pref. 5-.65% S and impurities determined by the mfg. process. Provides an Fe-free magnetic alloy suitable for this purposes.
