Worm wheel gear box - has integral shaft coupling with coupling sleeve studs located in worm wheel hub

A worm wheel gear box (1) includes a manually operated, spring loaded coupling. The worm wheel (5) is mounted on a shaft (2) which also carries an axially movable coupling sleeve (6). Two axial studs (9) on the coupling sleeve flange are located inside matching holes in the worm wheel hub when the coupling is engaged. A central plunger pin (13) which is located inside the shaft (2) is pushed against the coupling sleeve (6), loaded by the compression spring (8), when an external hand lever is operated (19). This causes the studs (9) to disengage from the worm wheel hub, thus the output shaft of the gear box is disconnected from the worm wheel.
