The door for a street light mast covers the opening at the hollow mast base for access for installation and for use by servicing personnel. This door is locked to resist forcing and unauthorised entry into the mast base. A door holding element is a double-armed bracket (26) with tapped hole in the middle. A screw is screwed from the exterior into this hole. Each bracket is held parallel to the transverse edge of the door opening by a guider rib on the inner side of the door panel. Each arm of a bracket has a bent end (26a) for providing a holding face which contacts the surface adjacent to the door longitudinal edge. The heads of fastening bolts are accessible through holes in the door panels.
