Recovery of valuable materials from industrial wash tanks - e.g. recovery of chromium from electroplating wash water

In a process for recovering valuable matls. such as metals from industrial washing baths, the enriched wash water is sprayed and conc. b evaporation, e.g. into the air exhausted from the treatment bath. The conc. liquor is purified by sepn. of the desired matl. from impurities and the recovered matl. is recycled to the treatment bath. The recovery of the metal is coincident with reduced cost of waste water disposal and can be combined with waste gas scrubbing. In the recovery of some matls. e.g. hexavalent chromium, the matl. can be recycled to continuously regenerate the electroplating or other treatment bath.
