The furniture parts are joined by a fitting, a boss (3) being secured in the one part (2) and protruding from the join face (4). In the other part (1) a housing (7) is mounted, equipped with a clamping plate (8). The boss is inserted in the housing, and the plate has an opening (9) in it for the boss, and of slightly larger diameter. The plate is spring-loaded (10), and is clamped to the boss by means of an adjuster (16) acting against it at a point offset from the boss, and actuated from outside. The spring can be integral with the housing, bearing against the plate at a point near the opening in it for the boss.
