Data collection and source identification - identifies raw material data with origin for computer storage and is esp. for processing industries

The data-handling system is useful to identify and analyse incoming batches of raw materials supplied from a large number of different sources, for example, in the sugar-processing industry. Each batch is analysed and coded with its source of origin and verified data is stored in a register and held for interrogation. A central controller interrogates each register in turn and can give each set of data a time identification marer. The collected data from each source can be displayed and/or printed out, or, via a code converter, be stored on punched tape or magnetic tape/disc. The collected data can then be handled by a computer as required.
