The base (1) of the machine for peeling oranges has two parallel guides (5) for the upper portion. The upper portion is moved by the lever (6) in order to clamp the orange between the spikes (15). A blade (22) formed from a U-shaped piece of wire penetrates the peel and when rotated by the handle (32) removes a ring of peel from the upper surface. The blade (34) carries a piece of wire mounted transversely at its end and rotates about the horizontal axis cutting the peel along vertical lines and folding it outwards. A handle behind the machine drives the blade (34) and at the same time rotates the fruit between successive cuttings of the peel.
