Test gas volumes to a time constant are added to a constant volume of carrier gas itself free from test gas. The gases are then applied to a mixing vessel and homogenised, so that a gas concentration is delivered at the output. An injector is provided for the test gas addition in several parallel pipes leading to the mixing vessel. They are individually connected to the carrier gas flow. The injector suction pipe is connected to the test gas pipe and its jet carries the carrier gas. Throttles or control valves are inserted into the suction pipes of the injectors. Their setting determines the volume ratio of gases.
