The air cooled engine (1) draws cooling air over it via a blower (2). After passing through the engine matrix the warmed air is collected a collection chamber (5) from where it is ducted (12) to a heat exchanger (6) in the cab. For added heating the heat exchanger is fitted with a cooling coil coupled to the engine lubricant system. The air collection chamber has a flap valve (9) to deflect warmed air into the duct or to the outside. The oil booster is coupled in parallel to the oil cooler (8) so that in winter the cab can be adequately heated. No separate blower is required for the cab heater due to the pressure in the supply duct.
