Continuous treatment of textile strip with two liquors - using immiscible liquors, e.g. in dyeing vats

Treatment of textile material with two mutually immiscible liquids comprises (i) guiding the material after it has passed through a first liquor contained in an immersion vat, from underneath into the squeeze nip of a horizontal squeeze assembly (ii) squeezing the material in this position and then transporting it through a second liquor present in the wedge of the squeeze assembly and thereafter reducing the excess liquor from the material in known manner more esp. by squeezing out the excess or allowing it, as a result of the use of a doctor blade, to flow back freely within a fixed time. No mixing of the liquors can occur and considerable savings can be made in plant capital costs, as well as the cost of power, operating labour, chemicals and rinse water.
