The sealing strip is used for packing lgands and is made of hard or inflexible material, stamped to increase its flexibility, and increase its resilience under axial pressure. The strip is wound in a spinal inside the gland, layered until a seal is achieved. The strip surface may be stamped with various impressions. It may have rippled surface, parallel or perpendicular to its length, and on one or both sides. If both sides are rippled, then the layers interlock. While flexibility is great in the direction perpendicular to the grooves, rigidity is maintained in the other. The grooves may be rippled or diazonal or zig-zag form.
