Bonded clinker brick chimney top construction - uses prefabricated triple layer cross section units mounted with crane and formwork

The chimney tops are made from clinker bricks bonded together, eliminating difficult work on the roof, and preventing an unsatisfactory brickwork finish. Structural units, each comprising three vertical layers (I, II, III) of the clinked bricks (2-2) bonded together, forming a cross-section of the chimney, are prefabricated. The triple layer units (1) are then built up into a chimney top on the roof, if necessary with the aid of a crane. A formwork unit may be used in building up the layers, producing a heater, more regular finish.
