A bandage for the prophylactic advancement of the development of the hip joints of infants, has a centre section, applied through the crotch, fitted with transverse reinforcement strips, as well as front and back support sections attached to breast and shoulder straps; the edges of the bandage being softly padded. The reinforcement strips are of easily flexible synthetic material, and the ratio of the length of the bandage to its greatest width is as 1:3-1:4. Bandage has an exceptionally delicate action on the join joints which are threatened, so as to exclude any possible harm to the child. There is very little interference with the child's movements and the upper thighs are spread without too much force.
