Appetite stimulation by galvanic current in mouth - operating by stimulating salivary glands to secrete saliva

Method of stimulating the appetite is carried out by placing metal plates or electrodes of different potential in the mouth of the patient, and adding alkaline or acid media to generate an effective galvanic current which leads to stimulation of the salivary glands and the beginning of the digestion process. The electrodes are pref. wedged between the teeth of the patient so as not to obstruct chewing. The galvanic current may be rendered even more effective by using e.g. citric acid. The invention may seem primitive, but could have special effect, and has been tested in different cases: it solves the problem of stimulating the appetite which is created because medicaments are not always compatible.
