A stringed instrument is such that its strings are brought into vibration by bowing, plucking or tapping. The functional components of the vibration beam system and also the constructional bass are made up as independant, spatially separated elements of various dimensions. The sound box is in the form of a tensioned membrane held in its rest position by means of a sprung element and a damping element. This instrument offers a tone colouring range from bass pizzicato to light, flute-like sounds. The components - not needing wood as raw material - can be made more easily and manufactured consistently.
