Double-sided non-slip carpet underlay - having sharp particles bonded and coated on topside and with rough underside

A carpet underlay consists of a carrier film covered with well-bonded small hard particles on its upper side and roughened on the other side. The underlay is non-clip to a floor and to the carpet above. The underlay consists of e.g. a polypropylene mat coated on the top side with a latex bonding layer covered with small sharp wood chips. The whole surface is then coated with e.g. PVA dispersion to maintain a good bond of the chips/substrate and to coat the sharp points of the chips, thus minimising damage to the carpet. The underside of the carrier layer pref. has a covering of foam.
