The main and auxiliary profiled sections of metal or plastic are fitted together to form a column or cross-beam for use in offices, e.g. for securing partitions, false ceilings, double glazing etc. The main section is of regular inverted-U section, symmetrical about its lengthwise centre line (3), and with two legs (4) parallel to the latter enclosing a central recess between them (5). Adjacent to each leg is a shoulder (7) at right angles to the centre line, and extending outwards from its respective leg.
