Temp. measuring thermo-element for corrosive atmosphere - is designed for in situ length adjustment to suit different protect pipe lengths

A temp. measurement device using a sheathed thermo-element inside a protecting pipe projecting into a corrosive atmosphere is designed to ease of adjustment of the thermo-element length to suit different projection lengths. The thermo- element extends from a connecting head via a top connecting tube and the protective tube to the sensing point. Inside the connecting head the element is connected via a terminal or soldered lug arrangement to further circuitry outside the corrosive atmosphere. The connecting tube and the element are manufactured to the maximum necessary lengths. For fitting into shorter protective pipes the element may be wound up and clamped in the head. The clamp and connecting unit is forced towards the measurement point by a spring which maintains the element in contact with the end of the protective pipe.
