The thrust anchor for a composite girder is firmly connected to the steel girder chord on the concrete side, whence it protrudes into the concrete. The anchor incorporates a single profiled or round steel bar (5), or more than one such bar, running continuously, parallel to the chord on on the concrete side, at an interval from it but firmly connected to it. The bar surface is profiled, to effect transfer of thrust forces from the steel girder (2) into the concrete structure (1). The configuration for this may consist of ribs, grooves, protuberances, depressions, or similar variations. Thrust forces are continuously and directly transferred, and the anchor is effective in both directions, becoming a load-sharing constituent.
