Prepn. of a refreshing drink, free from alcohol, carbonic acid and preservatives, is effected by adding natural fruit juice to specified components of cow's milk. The components consist of (by wt. w.r.t. beverage) (1) 70-80% fresh whey, (2) milk protein, i.e. albumin and globulin, as nutrient soln. for growth of lactic acid- and yogurt bacteria cultures, (3) 5% lactic acid from highly cultured specific lactic acid bacteria cultures, (4) 5% different specially highly cultured yogurt bacteria cultures and (5) 5% or opt. more lactose, as natural sweetener. Beverages has (a) appearance and properties of fruit juice lemonade, without milk character of mixed milk-fruit juice drinks, (b) pH 4.2 in natural acid, (c) resists storage for 6 weeks at +20 degrees C and 2 months at +8 degrees C, without high temp. heating and addn. of preservatives. It is a fully natural prod. Yogurt and lactic acid bacteria, ferments and trace elements, minerals and vitamins are fully maintained. Calorie content is only 50 kcal/100 ml..
