Linear induction tracked vehicle - with ground contact wheels for simple guidance and to take partial load

The vehicle is fitted with a support frame (2) positioned over the induction track (3) by a set air space (12). The frame is vertically sprung on the vehicle. The induction drive is by means of interacting rails on the vehicle and fixed rails on the sides of the track (1). The main weight of the vehicle is supported on ground wheels. The airspace control is thus simplified, with the linear motor only taking some of the weight. Lateral stability is provided by the ground wheels, which can also be on rails. No complicated lateral stability control is required and high speeds can be controlled with safety.
