Force fit driving-in tool esp. for bolt - generates electromagnetically controlled mechanical stress wave which acts on bolt end

The bolt-driving tool provides a force-fit for the bolt in a hole whose diameter is smaller than that of the bolt. The tool generates electromagnetically a controlled mechanical stress wave which acts on the bolt end. The mechanical stress wave has a high particle velocity and is controlled by a conditioning unit which regulates the intensity and duration of the high-speed stress wave in such a way that during a considerable proportion of the wave's duration a high stress level is maintained. The conditioned stress wave brings about a contraction of the bolt at right angles to the direction of propagation of the wave. The wave is reflected from the far end of the bolt in order to bestow a high speed to that end and enable it to overcome any frictional forces between the bolt and the walls of the reception opening.
