The temperature switch is mounted in a case with a front flange, and is in thermal contact with the coil through holes in the front wall. The switch (6) is enclosed in a metal case, and is pressed by an elastic force directly to the excitation winding (2) through a corresponding recess (5) in the front flange (4) possibly through a thin insulating foil. The latter may be packed with expanded foam in order to increase the thermal insulation and provide a resilient restoring force, and this is restrained by a cover cap with two clamping fingers.
