Coefficient of friction measurement within loose material of granulated-type particles in container uses a revolving stirring mechanism. A quantity of granulates is poured into a container and the revolving stirring mechanism is placed within the granulates. One or more projections are formed on the shaft. The stirring mechanism is operated for a specified period of time. The torque over a period is detected, and the time progress of the torque is used for determining the coefficient of friction. The container is made of refined steel surrounded by a heating cover.
