Cephalosporins of formula (I): (where R is H, Cl.CO2-, H2N.CO2-, Y is H, Cl, Br, I, NO2, or MeSO2-; Z is O or S); also their pharm. acceptable salts and 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C haloalkyl, (1-5C alkanoyloxy)methyl, benzoyloxymethyl and phenyl-acetoxymethyl esters, are broad-spectrum antibacterial agents, useful also as disinfectants and additives for animal foodstuffs.
