Released from a controlled drive, a tensioned coil winds along a track, stopping without impact before cut-off. Strip (1) feeds around a pressure roller (5) to a gear (8.1) driven (7.1) coil (6) spindle (7). Increasing coil diameter lifts a pressure arm (3). Preset sizing lifts a loading arm (11) clear. The coil spindle descends a guide (9), with maintained rack (10) rotation winding. After smooth reception (15) and a finishing drive winding (15), the lowered pressure roller initiates cut-off (16). The fully raised loading lever engages an empty gear ended spindle (7.3) which enters a hook (11.1). Lever descent, spindle to strip contact, and meshing (8.1), (7.1), follow. The pressure roller strockstrip enwraps the empty spindle.
