The method comprises applying liquid or gaseous deep coolants for cooling the very high cutting temperatures at the cutting point of a grinding body during grinding where such a procedure extends the life of the grinding body. The liquid or gaseous coolant is introduced as close as possible to the cutting point. The evaporation temperature is at around -70 deg. C and is thus approximately 400% lower than the temperature of conventional coolants. The coolant is also so passed to the cutting point that this lies in the region of the lowest possible evaporation temperature.
