Control lever for brake servo - with jointed lever between membrane and control housing with guiding rollers on cam surface

The coupling between the membrane operated piston (2) and the control housing (4) of the brake servo is by means of two similar levers (12, 13) joined by a pivot (14). Rollers (17) on each side of the pivot roll radially to the control housing along a prepared guide n20) as the membrane moves away from the rear of the servo housing, to which the other end of the lever is hinged. The system provides a compact linkage, which folds up into a minimum of space. The levers can be made light, as they do not have to cater for any torsional force, only pressure transfer.
