Contact pressure control of contact roller in winding equipment - uses proportional signals initiated by winding diameter to hold contact pressure at optimum value

The apparatus is used for controlling the contact pressure of a contact roller (1) in an equipment for winding a length of material. An electronics system is used to store formulae for determining a not regulated contact pressure of the contact roller. An optimum roller contact pressure for the winding equipment is also determined by the formulae. The formulae are a function of volume of the wound material or a winding diameter. The winding diameter is continuously initiating proportional signals which are fed in an equipment for calculating the contact pressure from the formulae. The calculated results are then compared and the difference between the calculated results is fed as a proportional electric signal in a mechanical equipment for controlling the contact pressure of the contact roller at an optimum value.
