Remote control unit for television set - contains battery powered independent memory of last TV control settings and uses IR setting signals

A remote control system for a television reciever consists of a remote control box with built-in transmitter, which may transmit infrared or other radiation, a battery, and a set of control keys. The control box contains also an electronic memory to retain the last value set for sound volume brilliance, and other variables. For use with receivers having automatic search tuning facilities thee may be also a reverse link from a sender in the television receiver to a receiver in the control box. Because the remote control box has its own battery, the stored information is not lost when the mains supply to the television receiver is switched off, as it would be in a known system with memory facilities int he television set itself.
