The evaporator has an off take for condensate located at the level of the condensate surface. The condensate flows into a separator at this level having a sepn chamber from which an oil outlet pipe leads. The sepn. chamber includes an off take chamber for the condensate sepd. from the main sepn. chamber by a partition open at the top and bottom. Used in the purificn. of water removed from cooling and lubricating oil emulsions for metal machining and cold rolling, and for degreasing liquors. Oil and emulsifying agents entrained as droplets in the evaporated water are prevented from mixing with the water when it is condensed.
